3D Throughout the Lifecycle

October 26, 2017 @ 11:00 AM ET
Visualizing 3D Mechanical Parts and Assemblies typically requires access to expensive Computer Aided Design (CAD) software along with the expertise to know how to use it. This knowledge is typically confined to experienced CAD Engineers, who are a part of smaller, niche departments within large organizations. However, 3D visualization is needed by individuals across many disciplines with varied technical backgrounds. For example, Manufacturing Planners use 3D Visualization to help plan for manufacturing operations; Technical Authors use 3D Visualization to produce graphics for technical documentation; Service Engineers use 3D Visualization to help understand how to maintain a product in the field.
In this webinar you will learn how the Aras PLM Platform provides the ability to display 3D models of your product and collaborate using markup and discussion threads directly on 3D content, regardless of the CAD system the data originated from, using a simple, intuitive user interface. Like all functionality within Aras, the 3D Viewer is integrated within the product and extends the core features (e.g., search, access control, etc.). There are no downloads, plug-ins, or other special software required; it just works.
